The Grenoble Alpes Metropole, the City of Grenoble and the University of Grenoble Alpes are three major institutions in the internationalisation of the area, each with its own fields of competences, publics and specialities.
They worked together on the international dimension, in particular with the report "Regards croisés" about the internationalisation of the territory led by the OBSY (observatory of Grenoble agglomeration). This work revealed the need to know each other better in order to collaborate more effectively, and thus the Grenoble Alpes - Connexions & Actions Internationales platform project was born.
The partners, who together contribute to the influence of the region, have thus decided to place this innovative partnership project under the Grenoble Alpes banner, the territorial brand carried collectively.
The Grenoble Metropolitan area includes 49 communes, representing more than 450,000 inhabitants. It's active in the following areas : transports, economic development, tourism, environment, energy, urban planning, waste management, but also drinking water management, sanitation, housing, or social and urban cohesion.
In the European and International field, in order to promote the territory, to help the improve the attractiveness or the exchange of experience, Grenoble Alpes Métropole develops projects, partnerships and networks, hosts delegations, organises or supports events.
